The origin
Built in Chennai, for brands across India
Spilanth Studio was founded in Chennai by filmmaker and creative technologist Surya. The idea came from watching ambitious Indian D2C brands, retailers and regional businesses get priced out of polished commercials by traditional production houses.
So the studio kept the parts of advertising that decide whether an ad works, the script, the direction, the edit and the sound, and removed the part that eats the budget: the shoot day. The money a shoot would spend on equipment, permits and crew goes into the creative work instead.
