Our method
Honey Badger Marketing
Definition
What is it?
Honey Badger Marketing is our strategy for making ads: find the one feeling that makes a customer want the product, then go after it with five hooks, Meta-native formats and the discipline to keep only what works.
Honey = emotion
The feeling underneath the purchase: the pride of a first car, the relief of a quick dinner, the craving before the first bite. Ads that find it get watched.
Badger = intelligence
The stubborn, structured part: one angle per ad, five ads per offer, formats built for the feed, and the patience to read the numbers.
Honey badgers dig into bees’ nests for the honey and shrug off the stings. Most brands run one ad, watch it underperform and decide “ads don’t work for us”. A honey badger would try again from a different side.
The method
BADGER, step by step
Brief to the bone
What does the product really do, who buys it, and what do they feel just before they buy? One product truth and one human truth go on a single page before any script exists.
Angle: one per ad
Each ad carries one emotional angle: pride, relief, craving, belonging or proof. Five messages in thirty seconds land as none.
Direct it like cinema
Script, shot list, then production. AI is the camera and the direction stays human, with your product checked against its artwork in every shot.
Go native to Meta
9:16 for Reels and Stories, 4:5 for Feed, captions for people watching with the sound off, and the hook inside the first three seconds.
Experiment in fives
Run the five ads side by side with the same budget and audience, and let Ads Manager show which angle your buyers respond to.
Repeat the winner
Build the next pack around the angle that won: new hooks, same emotional truth. Bring the numbers back and we write the next five.
In practice
One offer, five angles
A Chennai brand selling a ragi snack. The offer and the product stay the same in all five ads. Only the angle changes.
Ad 1
Craving
A slow close-up of the crunch, with the sound up.
Ad 2
Relief
The 4 pm office slump, and a snack you will not regret.
Ad 3
Pride
A grandmother’s ragi recipe, now in a pack.
Ad 4
Proof
The ingredient list, read out in eight seconds.
Ad 5
Belonging
One pack opened on a desk, six hands reaching in.
Run all five with the same budget. If “Craving” keeps people watching and “Proof” gets the clicks, the next pack pairs a craving hook with a proof ending. That is the R in BADGER. The full walk-through is in Honey Badger Marketing in practice.
What it is not
Not media buying
We make the ads. Your team or your agency runs the budget and the targeting.
Not a promise of going viral
No honest studio can promise that. The method gives you five real attempts instead of one guess.
Not five copies of one ad
A pack that only swaps the music tests nothing. The angle changes; the offer stays still.
Questions
About the method
- What is Honey Badger Marketing?
- Honey Badger Marketing is Spilanth Studio's strategy for making ads: find the one feeling that makes a customer want the product (the honey), then go after it with five hooks, Meta-native formats and the discipline to keep only what works (the badger).
- Is Honey Badger Marketing a media-buying service?
- No. It is how Spilanth Studio plans and makes ads. Your team or your agency runs the Meta budget and targeting.
- Why does Honey Badger Marketing use five ads?
- Five ads with the same offer and five different angles give Meta enough variety to show which feeling your buyers respond to. One ad only tells you whether that one idea worked.
- Can it work for a local business in Chennai?
- Yes. The method does not depend on budget size. A local brand can test five angles with a small daily spend and keep the one that brings enquiries.
